Our Program

Exciting New Program Starting in Winter Semester 2019

We are proud to announce that we managed to improve our program further for the winter semester 2019. What has been changed:

  • The 7.5 CP modules have been replaced by 5 CP modules, which allows us to adress more topics.
  • The variety of elective modules has been increased to offer a wider choice depending on your personal interests.
  • The modules contents have been updated to adress new state of the art topics.
  • Knowing the importance of German language skills, the amount of language classes has been extended.

Program Structure

The program is two-phased: one academic classroom oriented first year with theoretical content and a two-pronged curriculum: Mandatory modules shared by all majors, such as programming techniques, project management, presentations and communication skills. Major specific mandatory modules are complemented by a variety of state of the art electives. The third semester is dedicated to an industrial internship to gain experience within a German company. You will conclude IMSEIT during the final six months doing your thesis project in a demanding research-related topic.

Choose your Majors

Our Master’s course in "Electrical Engineering" offers a superior level of education in the following key areas of modern electrical engineering.

The general aim is to provide scientific skills and the ability to analyse, develop, and manage complex systems in the field of electrical engineering through the application of scientific methods. The course is aimed at developing in-depth abilities in theory and system-oriented thinking in such a manner that its graduates will have achieved the competencies necessary to enable them to perform, manage and direct research and development tasks as part of their later job responsibilities. All instruction is held in English so that the graduates are well prepared for their world-wide employment prospects.

Difference between the 3-semester and 4-semester program

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology offers the program in two different versions:

  • the 4-semester track
is designed for international students and students coming from other German universities
  • the 3-semester track
    is designed for H-DA students

Both programs share the same academic curriculum. However, the 4-semester track offers an additional internship module, German language instruction classes and bridging courses designed for the needs of international students.

The internship of the 4-semester program can be waived in case relevant industrial experience can be shown.
