1st SGLive Advisory Board Meeting

The SGLive project team and the newly formed advisory board are working to make our distribution grids smart, secure, and resilient.

In the SGLive (Smart Grid LAB Live) project, we are developing innovative solutions for the digitalization of distribution grids together with our project partners at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and Ingenieurbüro Pfeffer GmbH. The focus is on active and secure control methods, resilient operational concepts, and cybersecurity solutions for the power grids of tomorrow.

Yesterday, the first meeting of the SGLive advisory board took place at Ingenieurbüro Pfeffer in Rödermark. Till Neukamp presented the project. Following introductions of the participating partners, the attendees actively exchanged ideas and discussed three different topics in a workshop. The topics covered were:

  • Operational resilience
  • Dynamics in control procedures
  • Future-proofing in cybersecurity

The approximately 40 representatives from the energy industry, academia, and the field analyzed the challenges and current status within their respective companies and shared their experiences with one another. Not only distribution system operators of various sizes, but also manufacturers and higher-level stakeholders from the regulatory sector discussed their different perspectives and engaged in lively discussions moderated by the project team. The meeting concluded with closing remarks by our Managing Director, Prof. Dr. Peter Birkner.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our host and Managing Director Sophia Pfeffer and her team, the project leadership team led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ingo Jeromin, and all members of the advisory board for their valuable insights, discussions, and willingness to contribute their perspectives to the project.

Together, we are ensuring that the solutions developed are practical, transferable, and effective for the energy transition.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration and to many exciting discussions on the advisory board.
