Under the title “Future-proof power grids: Potential for digitalisation and automation”, the Bürgerdialog Stromnetz (Initiative for public dialogue on grids) extended invitations to attend a Hessen regional network meeting at Science Park Kassel on 8 November. There were three presentations on the various developments for future-oriented power grids.
In the first presentation, Sophia Pfeffer and Till Neukamp from Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Darmstadt) presented the Smart Grid LAB Hessen project. In a realistic laboratory, the intelligent power grid (smart grid) is being examined holistically from different perspectives. Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Darmstadt) is the consortium leader for the project, with House of Energy as project partner.
This was followed by Timm Eberwein and Mauel Müller with their presentation entitled Digitalisation and automation in practice: Introduction of Redispatch 2.0, providing an insight into implementation at EAM Netz along with a presentation of the Connect+ grid operator project which, as a standardised data platform, is intended to avoid grid bottlenecks in the future in a plannable manner. ...Find out more at
Finally, André Baier from the Competence Center for Cognitive Energy Systems at the Fraunhofer IEE presented a range of projects concerned with the use of artificial intelligence for the energy transition and supply security. ...Find out more about the work
The format as a face-to-face event allowed for a lively exchange between all participants throughout the whole event. All participants were tested, vaccinated or recovered.
