The Masters course at Hochschule Darmstadt is based on the high standards of the h_da . Although we have thorougly checked the technical background of every student when applying, experience shows, that students coming from different universities usually have a different level of knowledge in different topics. Furthermore, not every university puts an as strong emphasis as the H-DA on the ability to apply your knowledge in real project scenarios . Therefore mandatory technical courses , which take place in September and March will help you to "get on speed" quickly. Motivation The applicants for this master program come from different universities, each with a different emphasis in the bachelor education. Although we only select candidates, having a strong academic and professional background, we recommend to use the time between the admission to our program and your trip to Germany to prepare for the classes. We will provide bridging classes for all students during the month of September, but we highly encourage you to prepare the subjects mentioned below. Preparations for all majors H-DA bachelors have had around 6 courses on C/C++ programming and microcontrollers. As a consequence, the programming subjects very often are a struggle for international students. Im Rahmen des Bachelor-Studiums sind praktische Tätigkeiten erforderlich. Inhalt und Ablauf dieser Tätigkeiten sind in der Prüfungsordnung und dem Modulhandbuch geregelt. Für den Bachelor-Studiengang Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen werden die folgenden praktischen Tätigkeiten unterschieden: Vorpraxis Betreutes Praxisprojekt (BPP) Bisherige Studierende des Studienganges Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen an der h_da hatten die Gelegenheit ihre Praktika bei Firmen wie der Audi AG, Bilfinger Berger, der BMW Group, Bosch Rexroth, Daimler AG, Deutsche Börse AG, ENBW, Lufthansa Technik AG, Porsche AG, Siemens AG, SAP AG, Volkswagen AG oder Vattenfal zu absolvieren. Diese kurze Liste ist nur eine Auswahl der bisherigen Praktikaanbieter und es ist zu sehen, dass die "Großen" der Wirtschaftswelt Interesse an den Wirtschaftsingenieuren der h_da besitzen. Vorpraktikum Die Vorpraxis von acht Wochen soll der Studierenden oder dem Studierenden grundlegende Kenntnisse und arbeitstechnische Fertigkeiten aus den Gebieten der mechanischen Bearbeitung von Werkstoffen sowie der Entwicklung, Produktion und Prüfung von elektrischen oder mechanischen Komponenten/Produkten bzw. Erstellung von Programmen vermitteln. Das Ziel der Vorpraxis ist das Kennenlernen eines produzierenden Betriebes oder eines Dienstleistungsunternehmens, seiner Strukturen und der betriebswirtschaftlichen Zusammenhänge und Abläufe. Die Vorpraxis soll in der Regel vor Aufnahme des Studiums nachgewiesen werden, spätestens jedoch bis zum Ende des dritten Semesters. Die Vorpraxis muss durch einen Tätigkeitsnachweis belegt werden, der über die Dauer und den Inhalt der Tätigkeit Auskunft gibt. Dies geschieht in der Regel durch ein detailliertes Praktikantenzeugnis, das bei der Praktikumsbeauftragten oder dem Praktikumsbeauftragten des Fachbereichs vorgelegt werden muss. Aus dem Praktikantenzeugnis muss ersichtlich sein, welche Tätigkeiten im Praktikum durchgeführt wurden. Es ist möglich, vor dem Studium ausgeführte praktische Tätigkeiten auf die Vorpraxis anzurechnen und diese somit zu verkürzen bzw. ganz zu ersetzen. Über die Anerkennung solcher Tätigkeiten entscheidet im Einzelfall die oder der mit der Anerkennung von Praktika Beauftragte des Fachbereichs. Beispiele für solche Tätigkeiten: Eine abgeschlossene Lehre in einem technischen oder betriebswirtschaftlichen Fachberuf ist voll auf die Vorpraxis anrechenbar. Bei anderen einschlägigen Lehrberufen kann die Lehrzeit teilweise angerechnet werden. Praktikumszeiten einer Fachoberschule, praktische Ausbildung an einem beruflichen Gymnasium, fachrelevante Kurse oder Lehrgänge, die während der Wehr- oder Zivildienstzeit absolviert wurden, werden auf die Vorpraxis angerechnet. Betreutes Praxisprojekt (BBP) Das Betreute Praxisprojekt (BPP) findet in der Regel zu Beginn des siebten Semesters statt. Es hat einen Anteil von 15 LP am Gesamtstudium und gliedert sich in eine praktische Ausbildung von 10 Wochen in einem Unternehmen oder einer Institution und in Praxis begleitende Lehrveranstaltungen an der Hochschule Darmstadt. Ziele des betreuten Praxisprojektes sind: Herstellen einer Verknüpfung zwischen Studium und Berufspraxis Orientierung im angestrebten Berufsfeld Kennenlernen technischer und organisatorischer Zusammenhänge Beteiligung am Arbeitsprozess Praktische Ausbildung durch eine dem Ingenieurberuf entsprechende Tätigkeit an einem oder mehreren Projekten Die praktische Ausbildung kann dabei, unter Beachtung der oben stehenden Ziele, in folgenden Bereichen erfolgen: Forschung, Entwicklung Projektierung, Konstruktion Fertigung, Fertigungsorganisation, Arbeitsvorbereitung, Logistik Montage, Prüffeld, Qualitätskontrolle Betriebsorganisation, Verwaltung, Marketing, Projektmanagement und Controlling Die Beschaffung von Praxisplätzen bei geeigneten Unternehmen und Institutionen ist Aufgabe der Studierenden oder des Studierenden. Der Fachbereich ist bei der Eignungsprüfung der Praxisstelle und gegebenenfalls bei der Vermittlung behilflich. Die Studierende oder der Studierende muss zum Abschluss des BPP einen Bericht über die praktische Tätigkeit in der Praxisstelle anfertigen und im Rahmen eines Kolloquiums einen Vortrag über die Durchführung und Ergebnisse der praktischen Arbeit halten.
